Great prices, SUPER friendly staff and friendly service. Lots of families dining w well behaved kids. Loved the sushi and the beautiful red rose they handed to my husband to give me for Valentine's Day. Will definitely be back.
Wow, totally slept on this downtown Escondido gem! Excellent cuts on sashimi that were superbly soft and tasty Salmon was thick and the yellowtail was lightly topped thinly cut green onion (would've been more succulent with a bit of garlic paste). The bento boxes, of all things, were such a bang for the buck! Typically, bentos are decent and a thing in case you have a non-fish person in the group, kids, or have extra appetite. We went for it today just out of curiosity since they specifically had a chicken BREAST teriyaki, which often will be thigh meat (not a fan) and so glad we did. It came with a good amount of chicken, rice, salad, annnnd two ADDITIONAL sides. We selected the chicken gyoza and a tempura. I don't know how, but it was the crunchiest batter we've ever had with a delicious ponzu dipping sauce. Altogether, extremely impressed and supremely satisfied!
When I'm in Escondido this is my go to spot. Their sushi portions are above average and tastes very fresh. Very high quality. You have to try it to understand. The place is very bright and can accommodate big groups too. They have tables they can connect in the middle of the restaurant to make a big table.
Omg!!! This place was beyond amazing. Not only do they have an extensive gluten-free menu available, But they're also incredibly friendly, and professional. The chef even caught one of the items that was listed on the gluten-free menu, had been recently changed, and was no longer safe. I absolutely appreciate the due diligence for my concern. I had the yakisoba with gluten free noodles, which typically, for gluten-free does not come with a sauce. But their black miso glaze that they use on their salmon, was an absolutely perfect substitute. The flavor was incredible, as was everything else. I don't live in the area, but I guarantee that when I do come around here. I will be back. You can lay money on that
Seriously delicious sushi. Fresh, flavorful, great size rolls. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Laid out really well for a fairly long narrow place. Would be equally good for dinner with the girls or a date night. I came in early but by the time I left it was poppin. Only downside was trying to get anyone's attention for a water refill was next to impossible and nobody ever asked me how things were.
2nd time here & another great experience! Our server Mia is the sweetest lady! Really enjoyed our soft shelled crabs & tempura ice cream was also nice with a touch of cinnamon. The eel sauce is interesting taste sweet but a nice combination with the fish. Overall looking forward to coming back again & trying more things
Our food was delicious. I ordered one dish without garlic. It came out with garlic and they happily remade it. We had a good chance to visit with each other, so it must have been quiet enough. With the construction, you still enter from the sidewalk near the street.
Mikko sushi is a top sushi place for me for always having excellent, fresh sushi that is flavorful and delicious. Everything is absolutely outstanding, from the service to the food. The rolls are delicious, no matter what you get you'll end up enjoying it. They even have entrees, fresh fish, bowls, and lots more. The salmon skin salad was incredible! I didn't know a sushi place could pull off such a great salad! The seafood ramen is outstanding and so flavorful as well. Everything is fresh, the dragon roll, Carlsbad roll and Vegas roll are some top choices for me. The hot sake is great as well. Affordable, great service and great food what more can you ask for?
Everything ! Baked muscles -the best! Samurai and Dynamite Roll- so good too! Soy sauce too salty in my opinion but all right. Service was great, all were respectful and nice! Plenty of parking on the back of the building.
